I was thinking that since we always have monthly tourneys that we could have Team Battle Tourneys as well. I spoke to Skye about it and she says it's a great idea.

I beleive this is how it'll work:

Rules
-2 vs. 2, 3 stock, no Items,Team Attack ON, best 2 out of 3, Finals are best 3 out of 5

-No borrowing lives from your partner

-No character limitation (All characters are allowed)

-First stage will be a Neutral Stage, Loser of the match can counter-pick

-Double Elimination (Two strikes and you're out!)

-Partner will be randomly picked when the tourney starts

-If there are a odd number of people participating then we can go to AiB or QR to look for more people and/or substitute the spot with a computer. ~Credit to Revan Stone for the idea!!

I'd love to do team battle tourneys. The thing is...with most tourneys barely averaging 7 people, I just don't know if we'd have enough participants.

If we do have enough, I think it would fit nicely as the third Saturday of each month. That way a tourney will take place every two weeks basically, since there would be a singles tourney the first Saturday, and a doubles the third.

But I do really like the idea.

I would play in this as well. The only problem is that Brawl's wi-fi sucks. 2v2s are so hard to get a lagfree match.

Ya it is a great idea,and a tournament almost every two weeks would be cool. Yet the small amount of people is a problem, though there was a lot of participation last time, I think that we should try it out and do a test, then see how that goes

Yeah, the amount of people participating is gonna be the biggest issue other than lag problems, the lag issues is usually caused by interference, like downloading, and distance is another factor. But I don't see how that affects connection because me and Deezo have had a few brawls with virtually no lag. But thats 1 vs. 1, we havn't done Team Battles at all. I don't know much else that makes Brawl laggy.

And yeah, the 3rd Saturday would be excellent if we can round up enough people that are sure to be participating the tourney. Even if we don't get enough people by the deadline, at least we tried!

Ya and some peoples connections are horrible togather and are laggy as hell, but if were lucky and we can pull it off that would be sick

doubles is my favorite, i was kinda resistant to the idea of no share stocking but then i saw your partner is random so now i agree with it hahha. i think the random partner thing would be fun especially for starting out. it adds surprise to the outcome and tactically speaking it makes it easier for people to arrive. you dont have to depend on your partner being there for you to play. sometimes 'who knows why' its really hard to get more than one person to do the same thing at a specific time haha. also a thought for the odd man out we could likely round up a random person from aib chat or possibly qr if they arent already participating. there is also the alternative of having someone play on more than one team or having that person take a cpu partner. i like to think michael and i are a good team and hopefully have gotten better but we have been beaten by a one man one cpu team.

And yeah, suprises are what I'm hoping for in Team Battle Tourneys. It helps up the stakes, and the Team that comes out victorious will almost always be different. (By almost I mean I can't be sure that the same team that won the last tourney will come up again in the next, but even if they do come up again, there's still a good chance a different team will come up on top)
